Director of Programs and Development
Colleen has been with TVL since 2013. Originally from Canada, she was raised in a small east coast town with just 1500 people - not that many more people than Golu. In 2006 she earned her Bachelors of Business Management from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Soon after earning her degree she moved to the Canada's advertising and marketing capital - Toronto - where she had a successful 8 year career in corporate marketing and advertising. She has experience working with brands such as Microsoft, Samsung, Wonderbread and Canadian entrepreneurs to help them achieve their marketing and advertising goals and overcome challenges.
In late 2012 she moved to the U.S. and decided to follow her long-time passion to work with nonprofits. She got her feet wet working with the non-profit, Global Women’s Leadership Network, where she was their Marketing Manager. During her time, she worked closely with the Director and was responsible for building brand equity, building and management of a brand new website, and bringing brand consistency across all marketing channels. During her free time you'll catch Colleen mostly likely by the coast somewhere taking photos of almost anyone and anything. She's passionate photography and rural development and believes it's a great platform to share stories. You'll see many of her photos and stories throughout this site and TVL's social media channels. With a decade of experience in for-profit and non-profit, Colleen's experience aligns nicely with our approach to rural economic development.
